How can you finish your rigid vinyl floor?

To turn your room into a true gem, Floorify also offers skirtings and profiles. These can be obtained in the same colour and finish as your chosen vinyl floor. Our skirtings and profiles are available from all dealers.

SKIRTING

You can finish against walls with a standard skirting (6.1 cm) and with a high skirting (8.9 cm). Our complete collection comprises the accompanying plinths in every colour. You can order these separately from all of our dealers.

If you are unable to finish against a wall (e.g. due to the terms of a rental agreement), you could use a matching strip. This is a narrow strip that is attached to the floor.

Of course, you can opt to use white skirtings or paintable skirtings. You can find these at a dealer near you.

PROFILES

If finishing against a window, we recommend using an end profile. That way, you can make sure that there is a 5 mm expansion joint and a nice aesthetically appealing finish. It also provides reinforcement when walking in and out through a sliding frame.

With some doors, you just need to adjust the hinges slightly so that the floor fits perfectly under the door opening. As our floors are extremely thin (4 or 4.5 mm + 1,5 or 2 mm Floorify Comfort underlay), they often fit perfectly under your door opening.

If you want to disrupt the floor at a door opening with an in-built, sunken doormat, you should use a Floorify end profile to finish the floor under the door nicely. 

Thanks to exceptional dimensional stability, you can easily lay up to 20 m x 20 m without profiles and won’t need an discontinuation between the different rooms. You just need to make sure that there isn’t a particularly large difference in temperature (>12°C) between the two rooms. Make sure to install an expansion joint of at least 5 mm around the room so that the floor as a whole can expand and shrink under the influence of high temperature fluctuations. If you do need to install a profile between two different rooms, you can use a transition profile.

If there is a height difference between the two rooms, our adaptor profile or end profile could offer a solution. In that case, the height difference should be exactly  5,5 - 6,5 mm (depending on the collection).

Are you considering installing a different Floorify in an adjacent room with no discontinuation? You can do that! You can lay planks and tiles if the longer sides are adjacent to one another. Measure carefully beforehand to make sure that you know where the boundary should be.

TIP: Start by laying the dividing line and work your way up to the different rooms.

We highly recommend installing the kitchen first and then the floor as our floors are installed floating and must be able to move freely under the influence of temperature fluctuations. Heavy objects, such as a kitchen island or large in-built cabinet, would block the floor.

With many modern kitchens and in-built cabinets, you can seamlessly finish the floor by playing with the skirting. You can also use an end profile to finish against the kitchen.
