Project in the spotlight: Kotanique Mechelen
Tom Platteeuw and Kenneth De Smet are the young owners of student accommodation KOTanique in Mechelen. For the students staying there, the move means an emotional farewell to hotel mum. For Tom and Kenneth, on the other hand, it means that their property has to withstand some rough handling. Did someone say kot party?
Young violence? Solid floor!
To guard against all that young violence, KOTanique was completely renovated in 2021. The building consists of six hip student rooms with private sanitary facilities, a fully equipped communal kitchen, a cosy relaxation area as well as a sun-drenched terrace. This, of course, is used by the students only for quiet blocks with a bottle of mineral water nearby. Cough cough cough.
Architect Tom resolutely chooses Floorify
Co-owner Tom, who is also an architect and led the renovation, received many enthusiastic responses to the Floorify vinyl floor Verona after the renovation. After all, Tom and Kenneth were looking for a trendy, sturdy and user-friendly floor. So when you come across Floorify's large terrazzo vinyl tiles, you're a bird for the cat. According to Tom, the design was decisive because it fits perfectly with the rest of his design. Moreover, it is also very convenient that the floor looks less likely to get dirty because of the speckled terrazzo pattern. After all, the communal kitchen and dining room are used intensively by the students every day. Therefore, a solid floor that is very easy to clean is really a hit. It was also handy that they could install the floor themselves. This saved time and saved the owners of KOTanique extra installation costs.
Tom is still very happy with his choice of flooring for Kotanique: "The young, fresh design suits the concept and the young residents! We always get very nice reactions to our Verona vinyl floor. I therefore always recommend Floorify to customers." And the students? They party lustily on.
