Can you install a rigid vinyl floor on an existing floor with underfloor heating?
Floorify and underfloor heating are certainly a match! A vinyl floor really comes into its own when combined with underfloor heating. Rigid vinyl floors from Floorify are extremely thin and have very low thermal resistance (R value). This makes them ideal for use in combination with underfloor heating. There are a number of conditions to take into account.
What should i watch out for?
Floorify floors can be used on a subfloor with water-based floor heating and/or thermostat-regulated electric floor heating integrated into the subfloor or with a minimum 9 mm levelling. This is provided that the temperature at the surface of the subfloor is no higher than 29°C. The room temperature must remain constant at between 18°C and 25°C before, during and for at least 24 hours after installation. The temperature of the underfloor heating system can be gradually increased by a maximum of 5°C per day until room temperature is achieved. It is important to avoid large increases in temperature in the short term so that the floor can retain its original shape.
Always check the suitability of the underfloor heating or cooling system in the manufacturer’s instructions.
