How do you install a vinyl floor under a door?
Internal door
Do you have a different floor in another room or want to discontinue the floor under the door opening? You should use a Floorify end profile or transition profile to finish the floor under the door nicely.
With some doors, you might need to adjust the hinges slightly so that the floor fits perfectly under the door opening.
As our floors are extremely thin (4 or 4.5 mm + 2 mm Floorify Comfort or 1.5mm Performance underlay), they often fit perfectly under your door opening.
Entrance door
If you want to disrupt the floor at a door opening with an in-built, sunken doormat, you should use a Floorify end profile or transition profile to finish the floor under the door.

Door frames
You can shorten the door frames at the bottom by 6.5 mm so that the Floorify floor can run under the frame. That way, the expansion joint will be under the door frame and you will have a seamless transition to the side of your door.
Where the new floor is adjacent to a threshold or door, we recommend cutting away the door's mouldings at the bottom. This can be done as follows:
To make sure you cut correctly, lay a piece of subfloor on the floor against the door frame, then lay a floor board upside down on that.
Then lay the handsaw or multitool flat against the floor board and simply cut through the frame.
Remove the cutouts and vacuum up the debris with the hoover
You can now just snap the floor board into the longest side on the side of the cut-out moulding.
TIP: Use a pull bar to ensure that the long and short joint definitely engage properly.
