How should you finish a vinyl floor at a kitchen island?

We highly recommend installing the kitchen first and then the floor

Floorify floors are installed floating and must be able to move freely as the temperature changes. Heavy objects such as a kitchen island or large in-built cabinet would block the floor. With many modern kitchens and in-built cabinets, you can seamlessly finish the floor by playing with the skirting.

Adjust the feet so that the kitchen island is at least 5.5 - 6.5mm higher than the subfloor/surface (depending on choice of underlay 1.5 - 2 mm and depending on choice of Floorify floor 4 - 4.5mm). You can now lay the Floorify floor under the kitchen island. Maintain a clearance of 5 mm from the feet. The last thing you need to do is fit the finishing skirting for a seamless effect.

If the kitchen island cannot be raised, finish the edges with an end profile or matching strip. Don’t forget the 5 mm expansion joint.
