Do you need to level the surface before you can install a Floorify floor?
You will need to level or smooth the floor if the floor is uneven. The following is a summary of the situations in which you will need to level the surface:
We advise a slope of no more than 5 mm (3mm at herringbone) over an area of 2 linear metres. If this would take you over the limit, we recommend levelling.
You won’t need to level if Floorify is being placed on a tiled floor where the joints are no wider than 5 mm and/or no deeper than 4 mm. In addition, the edges of the tiles must not protrude upwards.
You won’t need to level if Floorify is being installed on a wooden subfloor where the whole subfloor is fixed and all loose parts have been nailed down.
Smaller slopes below the specified limits can be bridged using the high-quality Floorify underlay. Our Performance and Comfort underlay was specially developed to be used in combination with all our Floorify floors.
Don’t forget to clean the subfloor before installing the Floorify vinyl floor. Make sure to remove all traces of paint, grease, adhesive, oil and other dirt. The subfloor must not be loose, exhibit damp problems or be damaged.
After levelling, please measure again carefully. A smooth floor does not automatically mean that it is level.
