Does a vinyl floor need to acclimatise?

Yes, for optimal laying, it’s important that your Floorify vinyl floor acclimatises. This means that it will adjust to the ambient temperature.

For click floors, the planks should acclimatise horizontally for at least 12 hours in the installation space. During this time, make sure the temperature stays between 18 and 25°C. This allows the floor to release any tension built up during transport or storage, a process we call "de-stressing" the floor.

For gluedown floors, a longer acclimatisation period is required: let the planks rest horizontally for at least 24 hours in the room where they will be installed. In cold weather (outdoor temperature below 10°C), it's best to extend this to at least 48 hours.

Important: When acclimatising gluedown floors, no more than 6 boxes should be stacked on top of each other to avoid deformation of the lower layers.
