Preparing your herringbone floor
Preparing the substrate: this one should clean, flat, permanently dry and stable are. Depending on the type of surface, you need to take into account a number of concerns
What about uneven surfaces?
Surface flatness tolerance: undulation maximum 5 mm over 2 running metres.
Installation on ceramic floor: joints maximum 5 mm wide and/or 4 mm deep.
Let the floor acclimatise sufficiently horizontally at room temperature for at least 12h before installation for better ease of laying.
Think carefully about exactly how you want to lay the floor, measure the room well and use a laying plan.

Laying underlay
You always install a Floorify vinyl floor on a suitable high-quality subfloor. The Floorify underlay was specially developed for use together with our floors and has several functions:
Equalises
Prevents grinding (caused by grit or pebbles)
Increases impact resistance and walking comfort
Can be combined with underfloor heating as cooling
Isolates pass-by noise 21db/10db
Getting started:
Start in the corner of your room and roll out the subfloor.
Lay the underlay strip by strip, according to width and each time as you progress with the installation of the floorboards.
Always place the strips next to each other, making sure they do not overlap.
Taping to the screed or to each other is not necessary.

Installing Herringbone
Floorify planks are installed glueless: the floorboards are equipped with a click system that allows you to easily click them together.
Provide 5 mm expansion joint around all walls, pipes and objects in rooms up to 20 x 20 m or 400 m².
We pay a lot of attention to the placement of the first row of triangles
Mix the planks well. That way you get a natural effect.
Laying direction: To get the best visual result, it is best to lay the boards parallel to the longest wall and/or to the light in the room.
Layout: it is important to measure the space in advance. This will help you determine whether the first row should be sawn to achieve proportional left and right divisions. The first and last rows should be at least 1/3 the width of a floor section.

The first triangle

Important: check that the grooves of the two panels always form a straight line.
Start with an L-panel and place it with the long side facing the left wall at a 45° angle.
Next, take an R panel and place the long side of the R panel at a right angle of 90° against the short side of the previously installed L panel.
Insert a second L-panel with its long side in the long side of the previously installed L-panel and in the short side of the first installed R-panel.
Then insert a second R-panel with its long side in the long side of the previously installed R-panel and in the short side of the just-installed second L-panel.
By analogy, now also place a third L panel and third R panel.
When clicking together, check that the seams are always closed and that the end edges of each floor panel are always in line with the long edges of each floor panel.
Cutting the first row to size

Draw a straight line on the decor side of the panels from the right-hand corner of the last installed R-panel (third R-panel) to the centre point of the triangle (lower left corner of the first installed L-panel) and extend this line to the last installed L-panel (third L-panel).
Then click the panels apart to saw or cut them.
Snap the panels back together and place the triangle with the point facing you against the wall. When doing this, make sure the point of your triangle is in the centre of your room for a symmetrical result.
Place the starting triangle above the subfloor and make sure that all seams fit nicely.
Then alternately click left and right planks to the starting triangle and build in this way.
Once you've clicked about 4 boards on either side, you can move the floor up towards the starting wall.
Now continue laying the first V, until you get to the opposite wall
Filling the entire space

The next row of planks is laid in the opposite direction. So you return to the starting wall, as it were. It doesn't matter whether you start on the left or right.
Take the next plank and click it with the short side to the beginning V. Then pull the plank towards you to close the long side. To do this, slightly retract the plank at an angle.
Continue the row in this way until you get back to the starting wall.
Tip: You can also insert the boards horizontally using an impact block and hammer. You can also use a piece of scrap as an impact block. Never strike the click joint directly! Make sure the floor is completely fixed so it cannot move!
Each subsequent row is always laid in the opposite direction to the row next to it. So you make an alternating up-and-down pattern, so to speak.
Finishing against the wall

Fill the open triangles against the wall using the same technique. This is definitely where a tow bar comes in handy as the boards get smaller and smaller!
To determine the right angle, you can use a swivel hook. Be sure to respect the 5mm expansion joint!
