Can you install a rigid vinyl floor on a fixed carpet?
We do not recommend installing a Floorify floor on top of a fixed carpet. It is best to remove the carpet for the following reasons:
A soft surface can cause damage to the click system. The click system keeps the floor panels together. Over time, this can cause the joints to open and the panels to come loose. A carpet is not a good replacement for the Floorify underlay.
Too much air under the floor can cause an annoying drum effect while you are walking on the floor.
An (old) carpet that is locked under the floor can form a source of bacteria or mould.
